General specifications
Models:
ACMX10: 10 sample area capacity
ACMX20: 20 sample area capacity
ACMX30: 30 sample area capacity
ACMX40: 40 sample area capacity
Performance:
Gases monitored: The ACM is capable of monitoring the vapor phase of any chemical, except for the few wich do not absorb infrared radiation, e.g.chlorine, hydrogen and oxygen.
Gas monitoring capacity: Up to 60 chemicals, over as many as 40 sample locations.
Minimum detection sensitivity: In the range of 0.1 to 2.0 parts per million (ppm) for the most chemicals in the standard ACM configuration; may be improved by increasing the analysis time.
Range of analysis: The ACM has a range of approximately 500 times the minimun detection sensitivity.
Scanning rate: Typically between 20 seconds and 30 seconds per sample area.
Response time: The ACM responds to 95% or more of the full scale reading in the time alloted for the scan of each sample area.
Analyzer/Method of analysis: Continious scan FTIR (Fourier transform infrared) spectrometer.
Detector: DTGS type, operating at room temperature. For certain high sensitivity applications, a special cooled detector may be utilized for increased sensitivity.
Range and resolution: 5000 to 400 wavenumber (2 to 25 micron) spectral range with a resolution that is typically set at 4 wavenubers.
Precision: 0.01 wavenumbers, controled by a HeNe laser.
Signa-to-noise: with the standard DTGS detector, greater than 1000:1 @ 2000 wavenumbers, over a 8 seconds observation time.
Vibration resistance: Baseline reproducibility of better than 0.1% in a lab environment; better than 1% with 2meters/sec
2 vibration at 30 Hz.
Sample cell: Folded path gas cell with an effective pathlength of from 3.2 to 10 meters. The pathlength is determined by requirements of the application. Standard pathlength is 10 meters.
Computer type: Passive backplane chassis with plug-in circuit boards for ease of service; industial-grade; main processor board (subject to periodic upgrade).
I/O boards: One or two may be utilized, each providing 96 I/O; controls sampling valves and relays.
Local interface: Slide out keyboard and flat panel display.
Standard data storage: 1.6 GB hard disk and 1.44 MB diskette drives.
Data storage options: 100 MB or 1 GB zip drives may be installed in place of drive B diskette for storing files of IR spectra, if desired.
Interface and outputs:
Basic relay outputs: One each: Loss of power, Malfunction, Warn Level and Alarm Level (common: exceeded any sample area).
Programmable relays: 38 are standard. Each programmable relay is user assigned: (1) to a sample area, a group of areas or all areas, (2) to a chemical, a group of chemicals or all chemicals and (3) to the activation level - warn or alarm.
Additional output relay options: Customized to the needs of user. Specify the number and activation sequence(s), e.g. one warn level and one alarm level relay per sample point.
Serial output option: ASCII format serial interface to the user's computer and/or printer.
LAN interface option: Provides a network interface card to interface to the Telosense Local Area Network.
Analog output options: As many as 512 outputs are available, 4 to 20 milliamperes isolated from ground, typically one per measured component per area sampled.
Remote Man/Machine interface and printer options: The ACM may supplied with a remote computer terminal and/or printer, which permits remote interface to the software and data, up to 1000 feet.
Cabinet and utilities:
Type and size: The cabinet is rated NEMA-12. Dimensions: 54 in (137 cm) H x 48 in (122 cm) W x 16 in (40 cm) D.
Power: Pump power: 115V, 15 amps. Analyzer, computer and peripheral power: 115V, 6 amps through an isolation transformer. The ACM operates on 50/60 Hz and 115V or 220V line power (specify).
Purge and background reference gas: Nitrogen or clean dry air that is free of all measured gases.
Environment: The standard ACM is designed for indoor heated/air conditioned environments in a general purpose electrical area. Options: Integral heater/air conditioner for rain and sun sheltered outdoor locations; ISA type Z purge for Division 2 hazardous electrical areas.
